Passion Project: Mega Entry

Updated: Mar 14, 2021

Passion is the reason for our existence. It’s a purpose, a meaning, and a sign. It is a constant in our ever-changing world. It enables us to experience and savor the present moment, no matter if it is a time of happiness or sorrow. It is the essence of who we are and what we value.

There are several ways to find purpose and joy in life; however, one of the most effective ways is a passion project. A passion project is a way to do something life-changing with your passion. This project is meant to provide meaning in life, a significant reason to survive and thrive.

On our bio, you can see that our purpose is to inspire others to become the best versions of themselves. After sinking into deep conversation with each other, we have concluded that our purpose is bigger than that. Yes, we want people to achieve their goals and be happy with their lives, but we also want to start to replace humans’ hatred for each other with love.

What do we mean when we say humans’ hatred? It's when humans hate each other even though everyone is a human underneath. People get hate for their skin color, their race, their status, and so much more. If people were loved for these wonderful differences, our world could thrive. There would be a significant increase in self-love, confidence, and our success as a society.

We as a society are broken because of problems like racism, transphobia, and political divisions. We can rebuild though, with love and support for each other.

Our discussion (refer to it if you’d like to see how we redefined our purpose for the blog):

Warnings: Suicide and Hatred

Dash: I wanted to delete my personal example for a passion project because it seemed too personal, but at the last-minute, I thought that it would help, so I just decided to leave it there.

Raven: It will, it’s sort of like when celebrities are more open with us, we as an audience can connect better with them, and feel like they are more “human”. It’s great to find relatable things with artists.

Dash: That’s what I like to know about celebs. I don’t want to put them on a high pedestal because I know that they are still humans. Sometimes, it's fake fans that make them fall into depression and stuff, making celebs fabricate their lives so rumors don’t spread.

Raven: Yeah, I feel like most of their forced smiles and fake personalities come from unrealistic expectations. They are very talented, but even so, they are still humans. They should be allowed to express their thoughts and emotions openly without concerns.

Dash: I just want artists to be comfortable with those around them, but they can’t 'cause they have to follow this so-called contract. Not to mention, there are a lot of scandals in the entertainment industry and stuff. It just breaks my heart to see that happening.

Raven: Same, some celebs actually spoke out about it though. An artist got hate for speaking out and committed suicide, but after that the companies added more safety measures. They even stood up directly against the hate their artists receive. For example, they make public statements on social media.

Dash: I’m glad that they are doing that, and I’ll never forgive those fake fans. Artists don't deserve all the hate and death threats.

Raven: I think since companies have so much power and success, they can use it to their advantage and change how society views celebs. Right? They don’t have to encourage beliefs that artists are always perfect, god-like beings.

Dash: Exactly, many agencies make their artists undergo plastic surgery and make them feel insecure about themselves. It’s a tactic to encourage the artist to get plastic surgery. I feel like they are promoting conformity over individuality. I just don’t like that.

Raven: Yeah, they shouldn’t suck out the individuality from their artists, I honestly think seeing celebs being goofy and comfortable is really entertaining and nice to watch. It's wonderful to see their real, unique personalities shine through instead of their fake side.

Dash: I agree, they should let the artists and celebs express their own personalities and not set them into molds. No agency really cares about their artists though. I’m speaking the truth...that’s what I’ve seen with a lot of ex-groups and artists.

Raven: Yeah, it’s sad. They should care for their artists and treat them properly. It’s a good strategy too, because when a company respects and treats their "employees" well, the "employees" work harder and more efficiently.

Dash: Definitely, that’s a strategy that everyone should use. But do they use it now? No. Sometimes, people with too much power become so selfish and greedy that they forget the concept of humanity. Unity is at the verge of being gone.

Raven: Very true, humans may become responsible for their own destruction.

Dash: Yep. This all comes down to power and how we just misuse it. The more power someone has, the more destructive they are. In this case, it’s the agencies that have this power, making them so destructive.

Raven: I think that’s human nature, when people get too much power and control, they tend to use it for their own desires. It makes us blind to the consequences and trauma it can cause to others.

Dash: True, it’s man’s inhumanity towards man.

Raven: Yeah, I see hatred all around, but we are all humans underneath. I’m glad that there are more people these days promoting peace and love though, like us :)

Dash: Exactly, that’s our purpose, our passion project.

Post-Discussion Thoughts:

Raven: Shall we make this an actual part of our entry then? Probably shorten it first, but there are some really strong, emotional points.

Dash: YES

Raven: Yayy

Dash: I really like how we wrapped the ending and tied it to a universal concept. Like wow.

Raven: In conclusion, conversations are essays.

Dash: Yes, so true.

Here Are Some of our Personal Examples of a Passion Project:

Raven:

A red rose glistening with beads of water
A small bud blossoms into a beautiful rose with thorns

Something that has always tied in with my interests and sense of self is helping others. In fact, that is one of the main reasons I love writing entries for people to read. It allows me to share my experiences and thoughts - good or bad, to inspire and empower others. I hope that each entry we write here leaves you with strength, positivity, and new ways to think about our current life.

I’ve also come to realize that this blog helps me just as much as it helps others. Composing entries about topics like empowerment, motivation, and purpose allows me to perceive our current situation as an opportunity to grow, blossom, and come out stronger and more self-aware than before. To explain further, I try to write to you, inspire you, and motivate you in a way that I feel is persuasive and empowering. During this process, I end up healing and strengthening myself.

Dash:

A maze
An identity crisis is like a maze, but eventually, you will you find yourself and get out of the entagling mess.

There is still much to discover in my short life, and I have always dreamed of living life to the fullest. My interests influence every action I take, whether it be at my home or work-life. However, there are also times where I have a hard time wiping off the condensation from the glass where I envision my future. It’s hard for me to understand who I am and where I stand when the pendulum of life knocks me down to the ground. I have to reflect on where I am thus far to determine my purpose, skills, and attributes. In other words, there are times where I have an identity crisis.

Despite this, I try to persevere and take gradual steps to understand my mentality, personality, and identity to build a stronger version of myself. I tackle several passion projects while going through such situations. For example, I am currently working on Mental Routeen, a passion project that I am using to express my interests and better understand who I am. I wanted to be a luminary to help everyone who has gone through similar situations like me. Helping others is a responsibility that I am accountable for, and it also gives me satisfaction.

Some of you may immediately know your interests in mind, and others will probably struggle with finding out your inner-self. Either way, that’s okay! Know that it takes patience to form your identity, and when you feel like you have an interest that you want to express, try to complete a passion project.
