Sometimes, we get stuck with a jar of salt, it’s a strong taste that stings the taste buds. You have the choice to stay in the salt, or you can reinvent yourself, adding sugar into your life. Sugar is sweet and comforting, it’s the moments of the past we want to recreate and moments we imagine for the future.
Here are our sugars in the salt jar of life:
Raven:
Tap dancing in the rain with an instrumental song in an all black dress and hat

Recreate: running into the chilly ocean, making our toes numb, then running back in, and giggling at the silliness of the whole thing

Going back home after what feels like an eternity and noticing that little to nothing has changed. I’m always welcomed there with open arms.

Recreate: laying down on the kiddie slides and watching the stars when other people have disappeared into their homes

Adding to something really big over a course of years (ex: journal, artwork, photo collection, etc.)

Dash:
Recreate: collecting seashells at the seashore while “examining” them while raining

Go to my birthplace and seeing the culture and the people

Stand on top of a cliff on any landmark and let the wind blow against my hair and face and make me feel like I’m floating in the air

Teach someone anything, just so that they can work for themselves and feel happy the rest of their lives. Classic quote example: “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life.”

Just act like a child for a day, letting go of all the standards shackled down to the “definition” of an adult (of course, with also maintaining some decency)
