Making Dreams Into A Reality: Pt 1

Creating an organization

When we first became interested in starting an organization/project of our own we decided to brainstorm on a table. We included important factors like our purpose, the target audience, and if we need to invest money. This was a gradual process and we are still making change to this day, but it helped us start off with a strong base.

Reading Other Blogs/Articles

After creating a plan, we researched how to write high quality entries and appeal to the audience. Also, reading finished entries helped us get an idea of the format and topics. There was a wide variety of methods used such as sharing personal experience, using breath-taking visuals, and keeping paragraphs concise.

Coming up with a purpose

We wanted to properly meet people’s needs and help them with their mental health. Because of COVID, people had to isolate themselves and adapt to a new way of living. There were less social interactions and for some, they were beat financially. The main focus during quarantine was our physical health, and it overshadowed the fact that mental health was just as important; we wanted to highlight mental health along with that and that became our purpose: to show that there was hope and that everyone mattered.

Website design

Soon we were ready to start publishing our content, so we designed a website on WIX. It took us a couple weeks to find some great features and create something that truly represented our purpose. In fact, there were several things we did to personalize it such as picking an appealing color theme, creating a playlist, and even making a quote of the month page.

Setting up Instagram

We already had our website set up and ready to publish, so now what? We knew we needed a platform to showcase our organization and spread our purpose. Among the variety of social media platforms available, we decided to use Instagram, something we were already familiar with. Instagram already had a diverse number of users and had many features that we could utilize to reach more viewers, which made it a great resource for us to use.
