One of the best ways to get your thoughts out is by journaling, however, it can be difficult to start writing sometimes. For that reason, we’ve created a fill-in-the-blank template and some sentence starters. Choose from these to start your own journal, digital or on paper.

Personal Writing Tips:
Use your emotions to drive your writing and try not to focus so much on grammar/vocabulary/handwriting
Write when you feel inspired instead of forcing it out
Make sure to take your time and get everything out
What Is A Shared Journal?
A shared journal is a journal where both you and your friend talk about certain topics. It isn’t meant to be a personal journal, but you can definitely share about your personal life and experience with the other person. Here, you can strike up conversations about current events and ideas.

Shared Journal Tips:
Use what you get from the other person to keep the conversation going
Choose a topic that interests both of you
Don’t be scared to talk about controversial topics but make sure to be respectful as you share
You can do this on a google doc/texting
Sentence Starters:
